Useless

What exactly this app is for ? I can even open it !!! Give me my money back !!!

good menu bar with very nice artwork, but still have improvement space

Beautiful menu bar controller, i use it for spotify and itunes, it is almost perfect as a meunbar controller; personal advis: for spotify, i need a acceese to LIKE or ADD to playlist bottom, which still need to swith to spotify software, hope can have thoes function with the coming update. What is more, it’s great that SImplify support remote control, but for a apple earpod control, it always active itunes but not spotify. for itunes, if simplify can have auto lyrics add-on will be perfect and complete to bitt out all others concurrence. Cheers up Simplify team.

PrefsPane

The PrefsPane stop to work on this version

Replaces Bowtie for me...

…looks like a solid replacement for good old „Bowtie“… works good so far. But since there is always some room for improvements: 4 stars. Keep going. UPDATE: Doesn’t work with 10.10.2 anymore… at least for me. What’s wrong?

Not working after coming back from screensaver/lock screen

OSX 10.9.4. Using Rdio. The app worked okay for the first little while of usage. Left for 20min and then came back to screen saver/lock screen (not full computer sleep). Now the app does not work. Cannot get Rdio to start playing again using the app. Media keys on computer do not resume playing either (I have installed the extra pref pane). I restart Rdio playing by going to Rdio (what I was trying to avoid) and Simplify does still not work. I close and re-open Rdio, Simplify still not controlling the app. I close and re-open Simplify and finally it ‘re-connects’ to Rdio and works. The UI is fine, when the controller works it is handy. I like the idea and the overall implementation but it still seems to need some more testing in the wild before it can be said to be rock solid. This issue of not working after I have been away from the computer is very problematic for me.

This software needs improvement.

This software is probably worth it for the currently playing song info and really lovely underline style “progress bar” in the menubar and the fact it works with all major players. Though, the software could use some growth for sure, (which I hope is coming): • PLEASE Remove the “record/cd” icon next to the currently playing song info it’s not needed - Also, Who listens to CDs? (clicking the current song info could bring up menubar options and only be in place when no song is playing. • The recent font size increase is nice for some, I hate it, I would prefer a smaller size. Please add some some size customization in prefs for the song name displayed in the menubar. • The App Icon, while a minor issue should be redesigned to not be so “Spotify” heavy in influence — Taking on a more general feel since it works with more than just Spotify.

Good addition to Spotify!

I really like the program. Only thing that I hate is the little “”CD’’ icon next to the song, please give us the option to take it off.

Do not buy if you use 2+ monitors

I love this app, but it has too much glitch still. Key toggles are very inconsistent, and the app is only accessible from desktops space 1. If you use more than two monitors like me, you will not like this app. Developer seems very active, hope this app gets better.

Just Right

Simplify is precisely the right combination of access & control to keep tabs on all the way you listen to music, and it’s beautiful to boot.

Doesn

Totally this app doesnt work on my mac with mountain lion.I wasted my $5

With every update it gets worse!!!

After the latest update, I mean this new scrollable thing, I have a crazy right-left bouncing track title on my menubar. Clicking doesn’t work, I can’t close it (good thing I have Activity Mionitor). So guys, it still needs more work.

It just crashes and crashes!

It just crashes and crashes!

crashing!

It just crashes. Please, fix it.

Doesn’t display cover anymore

Lot of problems for a paid app. you should fix your bugs or put it as free app.

Elegant and Useful

This is the only Spotify controller I’ve been able to find that actually works like it’s supposed to. I can understand the $5 price tag turning off a few people, but IMO, this is worth it. It provides a menu bar controller for your music, but more importantly to me, it shows the currently playing song in the bar without you having to click on it. It’s so simple, but it’s executed well, and integrates nicely. The only big issue I’ve seen so far is that sometimes the album art inside the applet will be black, and when updating, the App Store’s “continue” button won’t close it; you have to go into the applet, click the gear, and choose to close Simplify. Other than that, it’s perfectly fine, so it’s defininitely worth the purchace if you’re a music lover like me!

Best OS X app I’ve used with major players/services

I’ve been a user of this app since 1/2016 and I can honestly say it’s the best one out there. I know because I’ve looked into other options and some copy aspects, but none really compare — support for different music services and players is the key IMO.

pretty good

This app can manage songs well. I can listen to those songs online and all I need is to open it and listen. It has become my first music player. And it works great.

Pretty much horrible? but great support

Few things bothers me with this add-on: 1. Some Jacket packs (mainly 3rd part, but you don’t really know which are 3rd party and which arent) cause hugh CPU spikes on Yosimete (OS X 10.10), which causes my fans to go crazy with no real reason. It’s pretty annoying when you’re in a very quite enviornment like library. 2. The deisgn is very awkward. The numbers are cut-off. I was thinking it’s a bug, but as per the devlopers it’s the actual design (“cut-off design”, maybe I’m getting old and can’t understand some stuff). Overall their support is great and they respond almost imeediatly.

Garbage.

I DJed a wedding yesterday with Spotify and had planned to use this app and the companion “Simplify Controller” app to control the music remotely on my iPhone. I had tested it many times before yesterday in preparation and it always seemed to work completely smoothly. Response between the Controller and Simplify on my mac was very quick, usually a second of lag at the most. It seemed to perform completely bug-free. Then yesterday while doing a sound check before the wedding, the Controller app completely lost all ability to control my music for no apparent reason. Multiple uninstalls, cleaning leftover files from my Mac, and restarting did not fix the problem. I was counting on this app to be dependable in a big situation and it completely screwed me over. DO NOT buy this app if you’re mainly interested in using the “Simplify Controller” app on your mobile device, because it’s a bug-ridden load of crap.
