Not working after coming back from screensaver/lock screen

OSX 10.9.4. Using Rdio. The app worked okay for the first little while of usage. Left for 20min and then came back to screen saver/lock screen (not full computer sleep). Now the app does not work. Cannot get Rdio to start playing again using the app. Media keys on computer do not resume playing either (I have installed the extra pref pane). I restart Rdio playing by going to Rdio (what I was trying to avoid) and Simplify does still not work. I close and re-open Rdio, Simplify still not controlling the app. I close and re-open Simplify and finally it ‘re-connects’ to Rdio and works.

The UI is fine, when the controller works it is handy. I like the idea and the overall implementation but it still seems to need some more testing in the wild before it can be said to be rock solid. This issue of not working after I have been away from the computer is very problematic for me.
